How it works

  1. Choose your rotation and your crew (or platoon).
  2. Set the day the cycle starts, the way your posted crew calendar shows it. The preview shows the next four weeks, so you can check them against your schedule.
  3. Adjust the shift start times and length if yours differ, and check the time zone.
  4. Download the .ics file, or subscribe so the shifts stay in your calendar. Share the page link with your crew; each person only changes the crew.

Frequently asked questions

What is a rotating shift schedule?
A rotating shift schedule is a fixed pattern of work days, nights and days off that repeats every few days or weeks. Several crews follow the same pattern, each starting at a different point, so the job is covered around the clock.
How do I put my shift rotation in Google Calendar?
Choose your rotation, crew and cycle start above, then click Add to Google Calendar to subscribe, or download the .ics file and import it at calendar.google.com under Settings, Import & export. Each shift repeats with the cycle, so you only add it once.
Will the shifts be all-day events?
No. Every shift is a timed event, for example 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for a night shift, in your time zone. Days off are left empty.
What if my schedule changes?
Delete the calendar or the imported events and make a new file. If you subscribed, unsubscribe and subscribe to the new link. For one-off swaps, edit the single shift in your calendar.
Do I need an account?
No. The file is made from what you enter on this page, and nothing is saved.
