How to convert ICS to CSV or Excel

  1. Open the .ics file above. Every event appears in a list, with times in your time zone.
  2. For repeating events, keep one row per series, or choose one row per date and set the date range.
  3. Search to keep only the events you need. The download contains exactly what the list shows.

How to open an ICS file

An .ics file is a calendar file: one or more events in the iCalendar format that Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook all understand. Open it here to read what it contains, or add it to your own calendar:

  • Google Calendar: on a computer, open Settings, then Import & export, choose the file and press Import.
  • Apple Calendar: open the file on your iPhone, iPad or Mac and add the events.
  • Outlook: open the file, or in Outlook on the web choose Add calendar, then Upload from file.
  • Android: Google Calendar on Android can't open the file directly. Import it on a computer and it appears on your phone.

Questions

How do I convert an ICS file to CSV?
Open the .ics file on this page, check the events in the list, and press Download CSV. Each event becomes one row with its title, start and end, place, description and repeat rule.
Can I open an ICS file in Excel?
Not directly: Excel doesn't read calendar files. Open the file here and press Download Excel to get a spreadsheet with one row per event and real date and time cells.
How do I convert ICS to PDF?
Open the file here and press Download PDF. You get an agenda with the date, time, title and place of each event. Use the search or a date range first to print only part of the calendar.
How do I open an ICS file?
Open it on this page to see every event, or import it into your calendar: in Google Calendar under Settings, Import & export; on an iPhone or Mac by opening the file; in Outlook by opening it or uploading it as a calendar.
Is my calendar uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by your browser on your device. Its events are never sent to Calendar Vision or anyone else.
What happens to repeating events?
By default each repeating event is one row with its rule in words, such as every week on Monday until a date. Choose one row per date to list every date in a range instead, with skipped and moved dates applied.
Can I import the CSV back into Google Calendar?
Yes. Choose the Google Calendar import columns before you download, edit the file if you need to, and import it in Google Calendar under Settings, Import & export.
What do I do with an ICS file?
Usually you add it to your calendar so the events appear on your phone. If you only want to read it, print it or put it in a spreadsheet, open it here instead.
